Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Brian Oakley #40514 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Pace Surge Powers a Top-10% Finish Brian Oakley crossed in 24:43, placing 226th overall out of 2,677 in the field and 171st among men. He also finished 7th in the M50-54 division. His race built steadily: a 8:15 opening mile gave way to a 7:33 second mile, his fastest of the day, before settling to 8:06 over the closing stretch. That middle mile carried him to his best positioning of the race, tightening his overall place before the final push to the Pearl Street Mall finish. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, the pace held firm across the final mile, closing out a well-managed effort from start to finish.
