Strong Middle Mile Powers a Solid 5K Finish Carter Lamprich completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 32:46, an average pace of 10:34 per mile. Her race unfolded unevenly: after opening in 10:12 for the first mile, she surged to a 9:00 second mile before easing to 12:35 over the closing stretch. That middle mile stands out as her fastest of the race, showing a clear ability to pick up the pace mid-course before settling in for the finish. Racing at Boulder's elevation of over 5,000 feet adds a layer of difficulty to any pacing strategy, and Carter's early speed in the second mile reflects strong composure under those conditions. Given the late dip in pace, she might consider working on sustaining that middle-mile rhythm through the final stretch in future races.
