Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Stefanie Herrmann #42119 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers a Steady 5K Finish Stefanie Herrmann completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 50:17, finishing among a field of 2,677 participants. Her race unfolded in three distinct phases: an opening mile of 16:34, a notably quicker second mile at 14:20, and a closing mile of 17:42 as she brought it home. That middle mile stands out as the highlight of her race, marking her fastest mile of the day by a wide margin. Herrmann's finish came on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, the traditional finish line for every distance at the event. Given Boulder's elevation of over 5,000 feet, her ability to surge in the second mile before settling into the finish reflects solid pacing awareness. A slightly more even effort across the first and third miles could help her carry that mile-two strength through the entire distance next time.
