Strong Second Mile Powers Steady 5K Finish Martha Barraza, 47, of Westminster, CO, completed the 5K at the 2026 Boulderthon in 46:51. Barraza's pace picked up through the second mile, dropping to 13:22 min/mile after an opening 14:43 mile, before easing to 17:34 min/mile over the closing stretch. That middle mile stood as her fastest of the race, a solid surge worth building on with a touch more finishing strength next time. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet adds context to any pacing shifts across the course.
