Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Tammy Hamann #42096 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Steady 5K Effort Shows a Strong Middle Mile Tammy Hamann crossed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 31:26, just ahead of her 2025 result of 33:14 but slightly off her 2024 time of 31:15. Her pacing showed a clear mid-race surge: after an opening mile of 10:37, she picked up significantly to run her second mile in 8:47, the fastest mile of her race, before settling back to a 10:56 close. Boulders elevation, over 5,000 feet, adds context to any pacing shifts across a field of this size, and Hamanns ability to accelerate through the middle mile stands out as the highlight of her race. Maintaining more of that second-mile rhythm into the closing stretch could be a useful focus for future 5Ks.
