Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Alyssa Trujillo #41723 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Faster Finish, Steady Fade Over Three Miles Alyssa Trujillo crossed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 26:45, improving on her 2025 time of 27:13 by 28 seconds. Her race unfolded from strength to fade: a brisk opening mile at 7:37 gave way to an 8:10 second mile, and a 10:11 final mile pushed her overall pace to 8:39 per mile by the finish. That opening mile stood out as her fastest stretch of the race, a pace she wasn't able to sustain over the back half. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, holding that early rhythm a bit longer could help even out the closing miles in future races.
