Strong Middle Mile Powers Steady 5K Kathleen Di Scipio finished the 5K in 29:49, good for an overall pace of 9:37 per mile. She opened with a 10:07 first mile, then surged to a race-best 8:23 for mile two before easing to 10:19 over the closing stretch, producing a race shape built around a fast middle mile bookended by more measured efforts. Di Scipio's 5K began at 7:45 a.m. and, like every Boulderthon distance, finished on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder a city sitting at over 5,000 feet of elevation, adding context to her steady pacing throughout.
