Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Makayka Mcdaniel #41989 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Steady Start Fades Late in the 5K Makayka Mcdaniel crossed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K finish line in 49:58. Her first two miles were remarkably consistent, clocking 14:54 and 15:00, before the pace eased to 18:09 over the final mile as she approached the finish. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Mcdaniel's early miles set a strong foundation for the race. Closing the gap in that final stretch could help her carry that early rhythm through to the finish on the Pearl Street Mall in future outings.
