Steady Effort Anchors a Solid 5K Finish Julie Jacobson completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 33:00, an overall pace of 10:38 per mile. Last year she ran the Boulderthon 10K in 58:48, a 9:29 pace, so this year's shorter distance came in slower per mile than that 2025 effort. Jacobson's race showed a strong middle mile, covering mile two in 9:36 her fastest mile of the day after opening with a 10:29 first mile. The third mile slowed to 11:58, pulling her overall pace back toward 10:40 by the finish. With Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet as a backdrop, there's room to work on sustaining that second-mile speed through the close of the race in future outings.
