Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Ruairi Keane #40076 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Pace Fades Late but Finish Stays Sharp Ruairi Keane crossed the line in 19:33, finishing 65th overall and 50th among men in a field of 2,677 runners, a result that lands him in the top slice of the pack. He also placed 12th in the men's 30-34 division. His race built steadily: a 6:10 opening mile gave way to a quicker 6:03 second mile, before a 6:34 close settled his overall pace at 6:18 per mile. That second mile stands out as his fastest stretch of the day, showing strong control through the race's midpoint. Running the 5K in Boulder, which sits over 5,000 feet in elevation, adds context to a well-paced effort. Holding that second-mile rhythm through the final stretch could be a useful focus for future races.
