Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Roberto Garcia #42045 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Start Fades Late in Boulder 5K Roberto Garcia finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 28:16, an overall pace of 9:07 per mile. He opened with an 8:37 first mile, then surged to a 7:38 second mile his fastest of the race before easing to a 10:50 close over the final stretch. That early move built a strong cushion that carried him to the finish despite the late slowdown. Garcia's race played out at over 5,000 feet in Boulder, a factor worth noting given his brisk middle-mile split. The 5K field launched at 7:45 AM alongside the marathon and half already underway, and like every Boulderthon distance, his run ended on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. With no prior Boulderthon results on record, this effort now stands as his baseline for future editions.
