Strong Middle Mile Anchors Solid 5K Finish Mineidy Chaparro completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 32:45. She opened with a 10:24 first mile before surging to a 9:14 second mile, her fastest of the race, then eased to a 12:05 close to the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. That middle-mile push was the highlight of her race, dropping her overall pace to 9:48 through two miles before the final stretch settled her time. Finishing in downtown Boulder, over a mile high in elevation, Chaparro can look to that strong second mile as a sign of what a more even pacing strategy might unlock in a future race.
