Fast Start Gives Way to a Tougher Final Mile Dion Gutierrez finished the 5K in 30:04, a race that showed a strong front-half push. That second mile stood out as the high point of his race, showing real speed when he found his rhythm. The final stretch told a different story, with his pace slowing to an 11:41 split for mile three and pushing his overall pace to 9:42 min/mile by the finish.
