Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Jennifer Carwford #40837 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

A Strong Middle Mile Fuels a Steady 5K Finish Jennifer Carwford covered the 5K in 31:05, finishing the third mile in 10:51 after cumulative pace had dipped to 9:32 min/mile through two miles. Her opening mile came in at 9:57, followed by a strong second mile of 9:08 the fastest stretch of her race before the pace eased over the closing mile. Carwford's race unfolded at altitude, with Boulder sitting above 5,000 feet, before finishing on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. Her middle-mile surge stands out as the highlight of an otherwise consistent effort; maintaining more of that pace into the final mile could be a useful focus for her next race.
