Strong Start Fuels Top-Tier 5K Finish Joshua Gowin crossed the line in 19:40, placing 67th overall and 52nd among men out of the field of 2,677 in the 2026 Boulderthon 5K. His pacing showed a fast opening mile of 5:59 that dropped even further to 5:32 through mile two, marking his fastest mile of the race, before a 7:22 close. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Gowin's early pace put him in strong position through the first two miles. With his closing mile a notable step back from his mile-two rhythm, holding that middle-mile pace a bit longer could be worth exploring in future races.
