Strong Middle Mile Anchors a Steady Finish Ashwin Vadivel completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 31:09, finishing behind his 28:50 result from the 2025 race. His overall pace settled at 10:02 per mile, a slower cumulative figure than last year's 9:18 mark. The race unfolded unevenly across the three miles. Vadivel opened with a 10:48 first mile, then surged to an 8:26 second mile his fastest stretch of the day before settling back to a 10:48 closing mile. That middle mile stood out as the highlight of his race, showing a burst of speed sandwiched between two more measured miles. Running at altitude in Boulder, which sits above 5,000 feet, adds a layer of context to any pacing shifts across the course.
