Strong Middle Mile Fuels Solid 5K Finish Anthony Martagon completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 27:57, an average pace of 9:01 per mile. His race built through a strong second mile, clocked at 7:48, before settling into a final mile of 9:31 to the finish. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Martagon's middle mile stood out as the fastest stretch of his run, a marked pickup from his opening mile of 9:40. Holding that pace through the final mile would have been a tall order after such a surge, but the effort points to strong late-race positioning worth building on.
