Her race shape showed a quick building effort: an opening mile of 9:54, before dropping to 8:55 for mile two her fastest mile of the day then settling to 9:26 to close things out. That middle-mile surge pulled her overall pace down from 9:54 to 9:24 by the two-mile mark, a sign of solid pacing control once she found her rhythm. Given that Boulder sits above 5,000 feet of elevation, that negative-split push through the second mile stands out as the highlight of her race.
