Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Craig Latham #40541 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers Steady 5K Finish Craig Latham crossed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 25:20, placing 253rd overall and 191st among men in a field of 2,677. That's a step back from his 24:21 showing at the 2025 Boulderthon, where he finished 148th overall. Latham opened at an 8:36 mile before surging to a 7:03 second mile, his fastest stretch of the day, then eased to 8:50 over the closing mile for a 8:10 min/mile overall pace. That middle-mile push stood out as the highlight of his race, showing he still has another gear even as the third mile cost him some placings gained earlier. Racing at Boulder's elevation of over 5,000 feet adds extra weight to that effort, a solid showing in the city recognized by National Geographic as America's Happiest City.
