Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Wytt Rey #40813 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Start Fades Late in Boulder 5K Effort Wytt Rey covered the 5K in 36:09, part of a field of 2,677 at this year's Boulderthon. His race opened well, clicking off the first mile in 10:55 before quickening to 10:11 for the second, his fastest mile of the day. The final mile slowed to 13:39, pulling his overall pace back to 11:39 per mile by the finish. The 5K stepped off at 7:45 AM in downtown Boulder, a city sitting above 5,000 feet of elevation and one recognized by National Geographic as the Happiest City in America. Rey's early pace suggests he has room to work on sustaining that rhythm through the closing mile, a small adjustment that could smooth out the back half of his next race.
