Strong Middle Mile Powers Steady 5K Finish Izzy Reath completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 40:20. Her race built momentum through the middle of the course before easing back over the closing stretch, with her second mile standing out as her strongest of the day. That middle mile came in at 11:46, well ahead of her opening and closing miles, giving her race a clear high point before the pace settled again toward the finish. The 5K stepped off at 7:45 AM in downtown Boulder, at over 5,000 feet of elevation, before runners made their way to the historic finish on the Pearl Street Mall. Reath's race reflects a runner capable of a strong surge mid-distance a pattern worth building on with a touch more evenness across the full 3.1 miles.
