Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Ashton Sharp #41877 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Start Fades Late in Boulder 5K Ashton Sharp finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 17:06, placing 28th overall and 24th among men out of the field of 2,677. Compared to his 2025 run here (16:51, 27th overall, 22nd among men, 3rd in his division), this year's result came in slightly slower, with his division finish slipping to 5th among M20-24 runners. Sharp's race showed a fast build before a late fade: he opened in 5:05, surged to a 4:45 second mile, then eased to 6:41 over the closing stretch. That middle mile was his fastest of the day, a strong showing at Boulder's altitude above 5,000 feet. Holding closer to that early pace through the finish could sharpen the overall time next time out.
