Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Emerson Sandberg #40221 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers a Steady 5K Finish Emerson Sandberg completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 31:12, an average pace of 10:03 per mile. His race built through a quicker second mile before settling back into a finishing pace close to his opening effort. His fastest stretch came between miles one and two, where he covered the mile in 9:16, well under his overall average. That mile stood out against a first mile of 10:33 and a closing mile of 10:30, giving the race a strong middle push. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet adds context to that pace, and like every distance at the event, his race ended with a finish on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
