Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Thomas Camper #42050 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers a Steady 5K Finish Thomas Camper completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 30:26, an average pace of 9:49 per mile. Camper opened with a 9:56 first mile, then surged to his fastest mile of the race, an 8:12 second mile, before easing to an 11:05 close. That middle mile stood out as the day's strongest stretch, showing a clear ability to accelerate mid-race. With no prior results on record for this event, this run establishes a solid baseline. Given the finish in downtown Boulder on the Pearl Street Mall, at over 5,000 feet of elevation, the effort reflects well against the altitude backdrop. A slightly more even pacing between the second and third miles could help smooth out the overall rhythm next time.
