Strong Middle Mile Powers Steady 5K Finish Amanda Lynn Truong completed the 5K in 44:33. Her race built through a quick opening mile of 14:35, surged to a season-best middle mile of 12:49, then eased to 15:59 over the closing stretch as cumulative pace settled near 14:27 per mile by the finish. That second mile stood out as her fastest of the day, a solid mid-race push before the pace cooled through the final mile. Finishing on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, Truong capped her race in a city sitting above 5,000 feet of elevation a fitting site for a race in what National Geographic once named the Happiest City in America.
