Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Mandy Nguyen #41305 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Fast Start Fades Late, but Second Mile Shines Mandy Nguyen covered the 5K in 32:58, opening with a 9:57 first mile before dropping to a 9:25 second mile her fastest stretch of the race. That surge pushed her pace well under 10 minutes per mile through two miles, but the third mile slowed to 12:24, pulling her overall pace back to 10:38 by the finish. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Nguyen's early pace showed strong control before the late fade. Her second mile stands out as the clear high point of the day worth building from if she looks to hold that rhythm deeper into future 5Ks.
