Fast Start Fuels Age-Group Win Brock Kelly finished 19th overall and 16th among men in the 2026 Boulderthon 5K, crossing in 16:26 (5:18 min/mile) to take first in the M20-24 division out of a field of 2,677. Kelly's opening two miles were remarkably even, both clocked at 5:09-5:10 pace, before the final mile slowed to 5:33 still enough to hold his overall standing. That steady early rhythm was the highlight of the race, built on a strong first mile that few in the field matched. Given how well the front two-thirds of the race were paced, working on sustaining that same rhythm through the last mile could be a worthwhile focus for future 5Ks, especially at Boulder's altitude above 5,000 feet.
