Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Evan Howell #40453 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers a Solid 5K Finish Evan Howell completed the 5K in 27:41, an 8:55 per mile pace, finishing 375th overall out of a field of 2,677 in the men's field. Howell's race built momentum before fading late. He opened with an 8:46 first mile, then surged to a 7:40 second mile his fastest of the race before easing to 9:59 over the final mile. That middle-mile push stood out as the clear highlight of his run. Racing at Boulder's elevation of over 5,000 feet adds context to the effort behind that pace shift.
