Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Karol Malachowicz #42382 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers a Steady 5K Finish Karol Malachowicz completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 32:32, an average pace of 10:29 per mile. His race built through a quicker second mile before settling back down over the final stretch, showing a clear surge in the middle of the course. Malachowicz's fastest mile came between miles 1 and 2, where he ran 9:33, well under his overall pace and a sign of strong control once he found his rhythm. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, his ability to accelerate mid-race stands out. A slightly more even split between the opening and closing miles could help him carry that middle-mile speed further next time.
