Strong Middle Mile Powers a Steady 5K Finish Sejal Krell completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 30:15. Her race built through a quick opening mile, surged in the middle, then eased in the closing stretch. After an opening mile of 9:41, she picked up the pace to 8:24 for mile two, her fastest mile of the race, before settling into a more relaxed final mile to the Pearl Street Mall finish. That middle-mile surge stood out as the highlight of her race, showing a strong ability to shift gears mid-race. Krell finished the event in downtown Boulder, a city sitting above 5,000 feet of elevationa notable backdrop for any runner's effort. With a solid pacing foundation in place, she may find that carrying more of that mile-two energy into the final stretch offers room to build on this result in future races.
