Strong Second Mile Anchors Solid 5K Finish Brett Henley finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 26:31, good for second in the M60-64 division. He split the field in Highlands Ranch's favor, moving through the first mile in 8:36 before dropping a 7:35 second mile, his fastest stretch of the race. The final mile eased to 9:27, a reasonable pull-back after that quicker middle section. Starting at 7:45 AM, Brett covered the course in downtown Boulder, a city sitting over 5,000 feet in elevation, before finishing on the historic Pearl Street Mall. Given the strength of that second-mile surge, Brett might consider a more even pacing strategy in future races to see if it yields an even faster overall time.
