Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Claudia Valente #40509 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers Steady 5K Finish Claudia Valente completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 51:24. She opened with a 15:46 first mile, then quickened to 14:45 for her fastest mile of the race, before easing to a 19:16 close. Racing through downtown Boulder, which sits above 5,000 feet of elevation, Valente showed her best rhythm in the middle mile, moving well ahead of her opening pace. Should she look to build on this result, holding that second-mile effort deeper into the final stretch could offer a smoother finish next time.
