Strong Start Fades Late but Finish Holds Firm Ellie Yoffie finished the 5K in 23:40, placing 181st overall and 41st among women out of the field at 2026 Boulderthon. That result put her fifth in the F30-34 division, with her middle mile emerging as the highlight of the race. Yoffie opened with a 7:14 first mile, then surged to a 6:35 second mile, her fastest of the day. The final mile slowed to 8:56, nudging her overall pace to 7:38 min/mile by the finish. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, her early pace control set up a strong middle stretch before the late fade a pattern worth revisiting in training, perhaps with a touch more reserve for the closing mile.
