Steady Effort Carries Boulder Runner Through 5K Ryann Mauro finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 29:04, an overall pace of 9:22 per mile. Mauro's race featured a pronounced middle surge: after an opening mile of 9:30, she dropped to 7:57 for mile two her fastest mile of the race before easing to 10:37 over the closing stretch to the Pearl Street Mall. That second-mile push was the clear highlight of her day, building a cushion that carried her home despite the late fade. With Boulder sitting over 5,000 feet of elevation, that mid-race gear shift stands out as a strong piece of pacing execution.
