Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Broc Homeyer #41039 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers Steady 5K Finish Broc Homeyer, 24, of Colorado Springs, completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 32:21, averaging 10:26 per mile. His race built momentum through the middle before settling into a steady close: an 11:34 opening mile gave way to a much quicker 9:23 second mile, his fastest of the day, before a 10:24 final mile brought him home. Homeyer's race unfolded at altitude, with Boulder sitting more than 5,000 feet above sea level, and like every distance at the event, his 5K finished on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. With his second mile well ahead of his first, he might look at carrying that same rhythm earlier next time, an approach that could smooth the transition from the opening mile into the rest of the race.
