Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Mariah Johnson #42281 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Start Fades Late in Boulder 5K Mariah Johnson finished her 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 29:12, an average pace of 9:25 per mile. She opened with an 8:54 first mile and quickened to 8:29 through mile two, her fastest full mile of the race, before the pace eased to 10:52 over the final stretch, closing out the cumulative time. Running at altitude in Boulder, which sits above 5,000 feet, Johnson's early miles reflected a confident, well-paced start. With her foundation of speed already shown in the first two miles, she has room to work on sustaining that effort through to the finish in future 5K starts.
