Strong Middle Mile Drives Steady 5K Finish Naomi Colon, 20, of Colorado Springs, completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 34:33, an 11:08 per-mile pace across the field of 2,677. Her race unfolded in three distinct phases: an opening mile of 11:30, a sharp pickup to 9:35 for mile two her fastest mile of the day and a settling third mile of 12:18 to the line. That middle-mile surge was the clear high point of her race, briefly pulling her overall pace down to 10:32 before the final stretch. With this shape established, she has a clear target for her next 5K: carrying more of that mile-two rhythm into the closing mile. The race finished on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, at over 5,000 feet of elevation.
