Strong Middle Mile Powers a Steady 5K Finish Bart Palmer completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 28:04, an overall pace of 9:03 per mile. After an opening mile of 10:11, he surged to a 7:42 second mile, his fastest stretch of the race, before settling to a 9:20 close that brought his cumulative pace to 9:04. That middle-mile push pulled his overall position from 664th to 478th by the two-mile mark, showing where the real gains came. Racing at over 5,000 feet of Boulder elevation, Palmer's early pace and late stabilization reflect sound pacing given the altitude. With the 5K field starting at 7:45 AM and finishing on the Pearl Street Mall, his performance offers a solid template perhaps aiming for a more even opening mile next time to build on that strong middle-mile surge.
