Strong Middle Mile Powers Solid 5K Finish Todd Konrad finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 23:39, placing 180th overall and 139th among men in a field of 2,677. He opened with a 7:30 first mile, surged to a 6:44 second mile, then eased to an 8:35 close as the race wrapped up on the Pearl Street Mall. That second mile stood out as his fastest stretch of the race, a sharp drop in pace that pushed him well up the field before the final mile settled back down. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Konrad's early pacing reflects a solid ability to build into a race before managing the closing stretch. A touch more evenness between miles two and three could help him carry that strong middle-mile pace closer to the finish line next time.
