Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Sivakumar Govindaraj #41189 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Steady Effort Slows Mile by Mile in the 5K Sivakumar Govindaraj finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 1:01:32. His race went out fastest, covering the opening mile in 17:41 before easing to 19:05 for the second and 22:51 for the third, a pattern that pushed his cumulative pace from 17:41 to 19:52 min/mile by the finish. That first mile stands as the strongest stretch of his day, run at altitude in a city sitting above 5,000 feet before the field turned toward the finish on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. A slightly more even split between miles two and three could help him carry that early pace further next time.
