Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Addy Kraus #41182 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers Steady 5K Finish Addy Kraus completed her 5K in 30:31, an overall pace of 9:50 per mile. Her race built through a clear middle surge: an opening mile of 10:03, a strong second mile at 8:37, and a closing mile of 10:50 that brought her home. That second mile stood out as the fastest stretch of her race, a solid push through the heart of the course. Kraus's effort came at altitude, with Boulder sitting more than 5,000 feet above sea level, adding context to her overall pace across the 5K distance. She capped things off on the historic Pearl Street Mall, where every Boulderthon distance shares the same finish in downtown Boulder. A steady pacing strategy for the remainder of the race could help smooth out the late-race dip seen in her final mile.
