Strong Middle Mile Powers a Steady 5K Finish Libardo Jimenez completed the 5K in 33:36. His race built through a quicker second mile before easing back over the closing stretch, with the overall pace settling near 10:50 per mile by the finish. His second mile was the highlight, clocked at 9:12, well ahead of his opening and closing miles. That stretch marked his fastest mile of the race before a slightly slower third mile brought him home. Like every distance at Boulderthon, his 5K finished on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting close at over 5,000 feet of elevation.
