Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Broderick Rampono #40571 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Surge Through the Middle Mile Powers a Top-Tier 5K Broderick Rampono finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 19:44, placing 70th overall and 55th among men out of a field of 2,677. His race built momentum through the middle mile: after opening in 6:29, he surged to a 5:41 second mile his fastest of the day before easing to 6:54 over the final stretch, still enough to close strong at over 5,000 feet of Boulder elevation. That middle-mile push proved the highlight of the run, showing sharp acceleration before the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. A slightly more even pacing between the second and third miles could help him sustain that early speed even further next time.
