Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Carlos Argueta #40006 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Fast Out, Fading Late Carlos Argueta covered the 5K in 24:53, an 8:01 min/mile average pace. He opened with two strong miles, clocking 7:08 and 7:12, before his pace eased to 9:42 over the final mile, pushing his overall time to 8:00 pace through 3 miles. That opening mile-and-a-half was the standout stretch of the race, run well under 7:15 pace before the late slowdown. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet adds a layer of difficulty to holding early pace, and Carlos's quick start through two miles showed solid pacing instincts even as the finish cost him some time. A touch more even effort across the final mile could help him close as strong as he opens next time.
