Steady Start Fuels a Solid 5K Finish Chelsey Perkins, 33, of Castle Pines, completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 33:09. Her second mile was her fastest of the race, clocking 9:20 and pulling her cumulative pace down to 9:44 per mile before easing back over the closing stretch. Perkins ran her opening mile in 10:09, then found her rhythm with that strong second mile before finishing out the race. That middle-mile surge stands as the clear highlight of her run through downtown Boulder, a city sitting at over 5,000 feet of elevation. With her overall pace settling at 10:41 per mile, she showed the ability to accelerate mid-race a pattern worth building on for future starts.
