Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Jim Parys #40505 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Nearly Three Minutes Faster Than Last Year's Boulderthon 5K Jim Parys crossed the finish in 29:30, a sizable improvement over his 32:20 from the 2025 Boulderthon 5K. The pace picked up early and held strong through two miles before easing over the final stretch, with the first two miles covered in 8:52 and 8:19 standing out as his fastest running of the race. Parys's race unfolded at altitude, with Boulder sitting above 5,000 feet, and finished, like every Boulderthon distance, along the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
