Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Claire Stevens #40760 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Fastest 5K Yet, Powered by a Strong Middle Mile Claire Stevens crossed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 26:51, her best time across three appearances at this race, improving on 27:24 in 2025 and 28:52 in 2023. Her pace tightened through the middle of the course before easing slightly at the finish, reflecting a race shaped by a strong surge rather than a steady fade. Her second mile was the highlight, clocked at 7:50, faster than both her opening and closing miles and the quickest stretch of her day. That mile pulled her overall pace down to 8:04 per mile at the two-mile mark before finishing at 8:39 per mile for the full distance. Running the race at altitude in Boulder, sitting above 5,000 feet, adds context to the steady effort she sustained throughout.
