Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Kurt Warren #40483 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers a Steady 5K Finish Kurt Warren completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 33:36. His race unfolded in three distinct stretches: an opening mile of 10:59, a quicker second mile of 9:44, and a final mile that eased back to 11:49 as he crossed the line in downtown Boulder. That second mile stood out as his fastest stretch of the day, a notable surge in the middle of the course. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Warren's ability to find another gear mid-race, even as the final mile slowed, speaks to well-managed effort across the distance. A stronger push in that closing mile could be a worthwhile focus for next time.
