Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Soundarya Prasad #40411 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Start Fades Late in the Final Mile Soundarya Prasad completed the 5K in 33:25, covering the 3.1-mile course in downtown Boulder. Her pace moved from a steady 10:11 in the opening mile to a quicker 9:52 in the second, before easing to 12:26 over the closing stretch. That middle mile stood out as her fastest of the race, showing a solid ability to build tempo once warmed up. Racing at over 5,000 feet of elevation, holding sub-10-minute pace through halfway was a strong showing. With that early rhythm established, working on sustaining tempo through the final mile could be a useful focus for future 5Ks.
