Steady Start Gives Way to a Strong Middle Mile in Boulder Daphne Glover completed the 5K in 36:35, moving through the field's early miles with a consistent effort before finding her best rhythm between miles one and two, clocking 10:47 her fastest mile of the race. The closing mile eased in pace, a common shape for a distance raced at Boulder's altitude, but the overall effort held together well from start to finish. Running the 5K, which stepped off at 7:45 AM, Glover joined a race that finishes all distances on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder a fitting close to a day spent in a city named the Happiest in America by National Geographic. Her final surge in mile two stood out as the highlight of an evenly managed race.
